MEGADETH formed in Los Angeles back in 1983, only weeks after Dave Mustaine exited his previous band, an act called something like METALLICA. From 1985 and on they started releasing records which are now all time classics of what was called thrash metal: a speedier, heavier and more combative version of heavy metal. Records such as “Killing is My Business…and Business is Good”, the unrepeteable “Peace Sells…but Who’s Buying?” and “So Far, So Good…so What!” brought MEGADETH to the heights of the rock universe at the end of the 80’s. But it was the classic line up with Marty Friedman, David Ellefson and Nick Menza the one that recorded their definitive works: “Rust in Peace”, “Countdown to Extinction” and the popular “Youthanasia”, records that brough MEGADETH worldwide success and platinum albums in the States, becoming a legend.
Now, with Kiko Loureiro on guitar, Dirk Verbeuren on drums, classic member David Ellefson on bass and invincible leader Dave Mustaine on guitar and vocals, the band is coming for the first time to Rock Fest Barcelona still within the cycle of touring behind their latest record, “Dystopia”.
