HELLOWEEN: FIRST CONFIRMED HEADLINERS FOR ROCK FEST BARCELONA
After several decades of waiting and in response to the fan cries for a reunion of the classic Helloween line-up with Michael Kiske and Kai Hansen, the german band announced that the dream would become a reality and the band would tour around the world under the “Pumpkins United” banner, which acts as the name for a global trek that celebrates the legacy and contribution to heavy metal.
The tour is having an spectacular reception, rapidly filling up Madrid’s Wizink Center to the rafters for the December 9th concert. We will have one of the most eagerly awaited shows by metal fans at Rock Fest Barcelona.
Classic records such as “Keeper of the Seven Keys” (I&II), “Walls of Jericho”, “The Time of the Oath” and “Master of the Rings” will be represented in a long and comprehensive setlist in which Michael Kiske and Andi Deris will share vocal duties, while the guitar work will be shared bt Michael Weikath,Kai Hansen and Sascha Gerstner. Markus Grosskopf and Daniel Löble will round up the rhythm section in a line-up decided to bring the glory and legacy of Helloween all around the globe.
Helloween formed in Hamburg (Germany) in 1984, are considered the founding fathers of power metal. Now, as the 30th anniversary of the original ‘Keepers’ is happening, all the parts have united forces to make a successful reunion tour that will hit Rock Fest Barcelona for our delight.
ICED EARTH AND TANKARD JOINS TO THE FESTIVAL LINE UP
ICED EARTH are one of the most respected bands in the heavy metal scene. Rock Fest Barcelona will have them on stage as they tear the world apart touring behind their most recent record, the globally acclaimed “Incorruptible”.
After having great vocalists in its ranks such as Matt Barlow and Ripper Owens, ICED EARTH have found in Stu Block the perfect musician to bring the band to the next level and keep their hegemony over the more classical sounding american Heavy Metal scene. Great records such as “Something Wicked This Way Comes” and more recently “Dystopia” have elevated ICED EARTH to a position of influence over a generation of heavy metal musicians. Jon Schaffer’s riffs are legendary in its own right and we will have a lot of those at Rock Fest Barcelona.
TANKARD are the drunkest german metal band. An standard of german 80’s thrash metal, this band of beer warriors will visit Rock Fest Barcelona with the intention of drowning us in a heavy metal hangover that we will never complain about. Their recent record may be called “One foot in the grave” but don’t let them kid you: they are far from dead.
Since they released the legendary “Zombie Attack” in 1986, they have toured the world and joined the exclusive Big Four club of thrash metal in Germany alongside Kreator, Destruction and Sodom.
